Many newer engine and gearbox computers are locked from the factory and must be unlocked before they can be tuned, including the Bosch MG1 and MD1 ECUs. We unlock them on the bench or in boot mode. After that the car can be tuned with MHD, bootmod3, Autotuner and others. We check your ECU first to see whether it can be unlocked.

Autotuner reads and writes the factory ECU through the OBD port, on the bench with the ECU out of the car, or in boot mode with the ECU opened. We write the file for your car, so cars without an app-based platform can be tuned too.

We tune the gearbox computer (TCU) so the gearbox matches the engine tune: higher torque limits, quicker and firmer shifts, launch settings where the gearbox supports them. A locked TCU is unlocked first.
