The Garrett PowerMax direct-fit turbocharger is a bolt-on upgrade for the BMW and MINI 2.0L B48 four-cylinder. It replaces the factory Garrett MGT2056 turbocharger on the original mounting points and connections, so no fabrication is needed, and its electronic actuator comes calibrated.
Garrett quotes +15% compressor flow over the OEM turbocharger, enough to support up to 400 BHP (298 kW). That figure is the turbocharger's own capacity from Garrett's compressor flow testing: what your car makes depends on its supporting modifications and its ECU calibration. An ECU calibration is needed to use the extra flow.

Check the OE number on your turbocharger before ordering. It must be 8631901-05, -08 or -09, or 9845811-01, -02, -03, -04, -06 or -07 (Garrett MGT2056Z / MGT2056DKLZ). John Cooper Works, M135i and X2 M35i models are not on Garrett's list.
Running the turbocharger above its maximum speed of 180,700 rpm is at the owner's risk and can damage it.
