The Garrett G42-1450 is the largest turbocharger in Garrett's G-Series mid-frame range, built around a 79 mm compressor inducer for big-power builds. Garrett rates it at 525 to 1,450 HP on engines from 2.0 to 8.0 litres, calculated from the compressor's choke flow; what your build makes depends on the rest of the engine and the tune.
It uses G-Series compressor aerodynamics and a newer turbine wheel design for more flow and efficiency, with stainless steel turbine housings. The compressor housing has machined ports for a speed sensor and boost pressure, and the water fittings are included.
Turbine housing: Garrett offers the G42 turbine kits in A/R 1.01, 1.15 or 1.28, each either with a V-band inlet and outlet or with a divided T4 inlet and V-band outlet, all free-float. Choose the housing and A/R above; each one is a complete turbocharger with that Garrett turbine kit (757707-0011 to -0016).
Maximum turbo speed is 114,000 rpm. Running it faster is at the owner's risk and can damage it; a speed sensor (sold separately) lets you watch shaft speed.
Garrett sells its performance turbochargers as motorsport parts. Fitting one can affect your car's warranty and road legality.
