Eventuri FL5 Civic Type-R Carbon Charge Pipe

The Eventuri FL5 Civic Type R Carbon Charge Pipe is a direct replacement for the factory metal turbo tube, built around three objectives Eventuri set during development: internal volume, flow quality, and heat isolation.

The Eventuri tube begins with a 78 mm internal diameter and expands to 88 mm through its main body before tapering toward the turbocharger flange. Compared with the factory tube's 76.5 mm internal diameter, the 88 mm section provides approximately 32% greater cross-sectional area. Eventuri notes that the factory tube is not a significant restriction at stock boost levels, with the additional capacity intended to support applications with increased airflow demand.

Flow quality came from the material. Pre-preg carbon fiber produces a smooth internal surface, where the factory tube is cast aluminum with a comparatively rough bore. Combined with the profiled curvature of the elbow, this gives a flow path designed to minimize turbulence.

Thermal isolation is addressed through a CNC-machined aluminum turbocharger flange and a custom silicone coupler with an integrated spacer ring. This arrangement prevents direct contact between the carbon elbow and the metal flange, reducing the direct conductive heat-transfer path from the turbocharger assembly into the carbon tube.

The tube is a one-piece pre-preg layup with no fiberglass, and is considerably lighter than the cast aluminum part it replaces.
